Artificial Clouds in Unusual Spaces **NOT Photoshopped**

Hey what's up everyone,

Hope you're having a great afternoon!

The YouTube video below is about Berndnaut Smilde. He is a visual artist from The Netherlands that created artificial clouds for his series called Nimbus; where he created clouds in unusual spaces such as buildings & then photographed them. I thought this would be a  cool video to share. I placed the link to his website down below, if you'd like to see more. Enjoy & Happy Taco Tuesday!

Deep Meanings, Butterflies & Dark Humor

I think about thinking, 2000 Today, I’m going to be sharing a couple of my favorite photos from a photographer, Duane Michals . Duane is known for writing notes (annotating) on his photography & having a dark sense of humor. I will be briefly touching on each photo to keep the descriptions short and sweet. Michals received a BA from the University of Denver in 1953 & worked as a graphic designer until his involvement with photography deepened in the late 1950s. He currently lives & works in New York City. “I think about thinking”   shows Duane in a chair, reading an open book that has the sentence “I think about thinking.” This self-portrait is about vanity & how he wants people to perceive him. He wants people to see what he is about & not judge him on how he looks.   Dr. Heisenberg's Magic Mirror of Uncertainty, 1998, (6) 5x7in. Strong Women & Expressionism.

Hey everyone, Sorry, I’ve been gone for a week. How have you guys been? Hopefully you all have been well & have had a great week. I’m great, SUPER pumped for the news that I will be unveiling either Sunday in a special blog post or Tuesday. Over the next couple posts, I wanted to talk about one of my favorite art movements & a couple of the artist in the movement; which is expressionism. To celebrate International Women’s Days, I’m going to start off by talk about Kathe Kollwitz; who was considered to be a very important contributor to the art world in the 20 th century. She gave a new meaning to the word expression. Expressionism is an art movement that began in the early 20th century. The movement’s origin was rumored to have emerged from an exhibit in Paris in 1901 and is still used today in many other pieces of art.  Prior to the events of World War I, artists from this movement had gone against the aesthetic forms and cultural norms with a deep sense of s...

Natural Forces, Flora & Becoming One With The Earth!

Hello Everyone, h ope you are having a great day! Mapped Out #2 , 36" × 48", acrylic soft-pastel on stretched canvas, 2017 I love nature especially where I live because we are surrounded by fields of fruit. We get to see them blossom in the spring & the leaves change colors throughout the fall. I’ve been doing a lot of gardening lately; planting/transplanting roses, planting succulents, pruning & keeping up the yard. The list goes on... I am currently working on  creating a cactus themed raised bed. The borders are made out of rounded bricks. I also have been looking at a lot of different types of art on Instagram, Youtube & Pinterest. I came across an  Heather Day , an artist that takes nature & transfers is on to a canvas. Her artwork is very expressionistic as she combines colors with textures to create some wonderful works of art. Some techniques that she uses remind me of the way Jackson Pollock used to paint. They both use their enti...
