Next Week Vibes & Voting

Happy Friday Everyone!
A couple of announcements today guys; the My Neighbor Totoro Design Contest is until open for submissions until 11:59PM PST on March 28, 2018 & voting is open until 11:59PM PST on April 04, 2018. With that being said, I encourage anyone that wants to submit artwork to do so & since you’ll already be on the For Fans By Fans website, might as well vote for my artwork if you haven’t already. You don’t have to be the best at art, just as long as you’re a fan & have fun with it. There are also other contests on the website if you're interested. I’ll put the links to everything down below. The website will ask you to create an account, which is fairly simple. All you have to do is type in your email address, first name, last name & create a password or you can just sign up with your Facebook account.

If you have voted, please comment on this page, so I can show you guys some love.

On another note, My girlfriend & I will be going to San Francisco next week to go to museums such as SFMOMA, the Academy of Sciences, Ripley’s Believe it or not!, possibly the de Young, the Asian Art Museum & The Exploratorium. Don’t worry, I will still be posting next week, well we are over there. I can’t wait to see some of the greats such as Jasper Johns, Frida Kahlo, Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Georgia O’ Keeffe, Andy Warhol, Diego Rivera, Robert Rauschenberg & Jackson Pollock just to name a few. I’ve only been to SFMOMA once in college with my Art Tours class. We were only there for about one to two hours, which isn’t enough time to see & appreciate the whole museum. I’m so stoked to be going again & actually spending most of the day at SFMOMA.

Thanks again you guys, hope you’re having a wonderful Friday & have a great weekend!

Stars on a Hook *My Neighbor Totoro T-Shirt Design*

Stars on a Hook, 15x19, 2018, Digital   Happy Tuesday Everyone, Hope You’re Having a Great One! As promised, here is my design for the For Fans By Fans: My Neighbor Totoro Design contest. I uploaded my design to the FFBF site but it’s going to take 1-2 business days to be approved & uploaded. I’ll keep you guys updated on the status of the design & when you guys can go vote. In the meantime, let me know what you think. I wanted to keep this the design cute, unique & in space rather than in a forest. Even though, Totoro’s are forest spirits; I felt that a lot of the entries were going to be based in the forest. I might be doing a give away when the artwork is posted; more on that in the next blog. Thanks for taking time out of your busy day & spending some time on me; I appreciate it. Talk to you guys soon & Stay Tuned! My Links Website: https://alexstudios.worldsecuresystems.com/ Instagram: Itsmealexblogs Snapchat...

Strong Women & Expressionism.

Hey everyone, Sorry, I’ve been gone for a week. How have you guys been? Hopefully you all have been well & have had a great week. I’m great, SUPER pumped for the news that I will be unveiling either Sunday in a special blog post or Tuesday. Over the next couple posts, I wanted to talk about one of my favorite art movements & a couple of the artist in the movement; which is expressionism. To celebrate International Women’s Days, I’m going to start off by talk about Kathe Kollwitz; who was considered to be a very important contributor to the art world in the 20 th century. She gave a new meaning to the word expression. Expressionism is an art movement that began in the early 20th century. The movement’s origin was rumored to have emerged from an exhibit in Paris in 1901 and is still used today in many other pieces of art.  Prior to the events of World War I, artists from this movement had gone against the aesthetic forms and cultural norms with a deep sense of s...
